Our Anniversary

Our anniverary began with these sweet little cherubs bringing us donuts in bed with a card they had purchased the night before. They wrote us sweet notes in the card plus made us a puppet from the paper sack the card came in that when you opened the puppets mouth they had written Happy Annivesary inside it! So Cute and thoughtful. We enjoyed the day riding alpine slides and eating out on a patio below the majestic Moutains of Colorado Our day ended with this candle light dinner (note the markers in a cup in the middle of the table) Kacey sent us upstairs while she prepare our candles. The funny thing was that earlier in the day they had begged me to buy these candles we saw in a shop and I thought it was so funny that they both wanted me to buy candles. Which of course I didn't so Kacey had to get creative and she covered markers with duck tape so that just the tips of the markers stuck out. It was very precious. She had also asked me how to call aunt kristi b/c she wanted to get mom's phone number to call and invite her to the annivesary party since mom was home alone but decided she wouldn't want to drive three hours alone to come for dinner. (I'm sure she would have come in a heart beat had Kacey called!!)

Thanks Kacey and Breck for a memorable anniversary

Much love to my dear husband of 16 years... I have loved every minute that I get to share with you.

Camping in Colorado

I feel like I should post this above picture all by itself and let it speak of how majestic our God is!

We were fortunate to go camping at this location. We found the perfect camp site and after we set up all three tents it felt like home! Kacey and Breck each found them their own little "forts" to hang out in while at the camp site.

We decided one day to go hiking and as we hiked along we decided we wanted to hike all the way to Little Trappers. Another Lake that sits much higher up in the mountains.

This is where we began....
and we hiked....and hiked...and hiked.... and stopped for a few rests along the way...

until we finally arrived and oh what pure joy it was to put their toes and eventually their bottoms in that ice cold lake water!

They were such troopers on this hike. Kacey has learned much about perseverance in this past year and today we saw it pay off!

Other fun things we did was feeding the chipmunks Playing badmitton
and baseball (of course - the sport of the season for this little man)
and eating campfire food. I cheated on my food restrictions and ate a number of campfire pies! They were worth every bite!
Mom felt like she was in pure luxury the morning she cooked our pancakes over this little jewel
The Kids had fun fetching the water

One day I went on a hike with just mom and dad! Such a rare treat and they were saying they didn't have any "kids" with them to play on these fun rocks in which I reminded them I was their "kid" and obliged them by sitting in the rocks surrounded by beautiful colorado columbines.
Just some other fun photos!
It was a very fun trip for all of us.
We had fun reminicsing over the summer dad re-roofed this cabin and we were able to live here for about a month. Josh and I swapped stories of the raft we had built with the scrap lumber and and how Kristi and I were sent across the lake in a canoe to get more lumber that we dragged back with us behind the canoe and then again to pick up grandma and grandpa.

Beauty School with Grandma Great!

One day when we were visitng grandma and grandpa the kids took their turns getting their hair styled! Breck wantd a mo-hawk and was a tad sad to discover that grandma didn't stick his hair straight up on top of his head but soon decided that it was okay after she told him he looked like an older gentleman!
Kacey's turn to be a beauty queen!
She found this rose at grandma's and struck her pose!

I think it was a fun time for all three of them!

July Celebrations

July 4th Celebrations
A fun tradition in our home town is to head to the park and bundle up to watch the fireworks that are set off on the hillside above you. It's fun to lay down to watch them as they "fall".
Josh and I both went home to celebrate class reunions. It was fun to catch up with old friends (and for me they are getting older which means I am too! HA!)
It was fun to see my friends Tammie and Laurie plus many others that were in town for the reunion. Also my kids have a great time playing with Lauries children. This time they made up their own secret club and even hid their treasures to find the next time they are all back in Meeker together.
Rodeo Time. Always a fun event on the fourth of JulyHere is Kacey practicing her Lasso abilities!

Waiting and waiting to see a bull rider make it his 8 seconds... and waiting and waiting! Finally ONE Bull rider succeeded!
Here we are hanging out waiting for the parade of "trucks" to come by and throw us more candy than we get at halloween!
Decked out for the 4th with the new hats Papa and Grammy got them!

Happy Birthday to our Prince Charming

Breck enjoyed his birthday in the only way he knows how - full of enthusiasm and lots of hugs!

Pretty much with every gift he opened he exclaimed "THANK YOU I've wanted this my WHOLE LIFE!"

Bats, baseballs, and bugs was the theme for the evening! Breck wanted to play Baseball for his birthday which I believe they all had great fun doing besides getting eaten by all the mosquitos! Daddy was the pitcher and did a great job of helping everyone hit the ball and feel successful.

Here is Cousin Elise giving us her "big guns" baseball pose!

Hugs for everyone!

Happy Birthday my sweet boy! Mommy can't believe your SIX! I love you to the moon and back!
Kim Hill \ Up To The Moon
I love you up to the moon
And I love you big as the sky
I love to watch you when you sleep
I love to hold you when you cry
One day when you're older
And taller than me
I'll say I watched you grow
Like a beautiful tree
I love you up to the moon
And I love you big as the sky
You'll always be my little man
I love you the best that a mama can
And one day if you rise up
And call me blessed
I'll say it was a joy
To give you my best
'Cause I love you up to the moon
I love you big as the sky
I love you up to the moon
